What is the proper distance between hunters on public water? 200 yards seems to be the minimum distance that comes up from time to time. In my opinion it should be at least 200 but more like 300+. Maybe all public lakes should be limited to a certain number of permits issued based on huntable acres on each lake.

300 yards, if less, then be around a corner where you can’t see each other (200 yards min).

500 yards Some lakes have 600 feet from structure rule so why not a 500 yards from other hunters rule?

All lakes don't have permits issued for duck hunting?? Do you really want a draw for lake permits everywhere?? Can you guess what that would cost, or how limited that would make for hunting. Wake-up, 200 yards is more then enough room.

Well if your going to the blind at 1:00 or 2:00am then your sleeping as well. I wonder what the law says about duck hunting at night LOL

I think where whipin a dead horse here..Well 200yrd's or more whould be nice..But The place's that I hunt most are small 20-50acker pond's so room is limited. I have found a lot of duck hunter's this year that dont use light's so you can see them and set up away from them so I think that if some set's up to close to them it's there falt they did nothin to let other's know where they are..I use my light till SLT and I make noise when I am setting up so other's know where I am..Good Idea but our sport is growing fast maybe too fast...
Shoot e'm in the lips and let the retrievers run..

This past saturday, we had a group of 4 people setup 35 yards from us. I could have shot one of them they were so close. So close we could here every word they said..
PLUS we were both using 3 1/2 inch BB's.

Game warden told me 300 yards a few years ago. I've held him to it on occasion. Very effective when they're involved. Shining lights does nothing towards thwarting people from your zone. You have to man up to them, face to face, and plan on staying in their spread arguing your point until at they leave. Even if it means not getting to hunt.

So they go over and shoot your boat, then you go over and shoot his dog, then they go over and shoot you. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, I came out winner but still didn't hunt that day.
