this is what i was looking at. its a night vision scope i was looking to get for my rifle. im not sure if i understand it correctly though. i think it says you can detect or see up to 200 yards in night vision but the illuminator is only 100 yards. can someone explain to me how far this scope will pick up and be effective.

Unless you can afford a Gen II or better, I wouldn't waste my money. I may be wrong, as I have not used this one, but the Gen I that I have only works to about 50 yards and the moon needs to be half or better. Sig knows his stuff though, so maybe worth a shot. How much is it?

it was running 375.00

i was wanting something good enough to hunt when and where i want. i got one of those scope mounted red lights and a hog walked across at about 75 yards (the red lights says 350 yards)and i couldnt pick it up at all through my scope.

#1 for night time 50mm objective minimum #2put the light out where you can attract them to it #3 if you want a scope that allows you to hunt where and when get ready to spend big bucks on a thermal scope.I wouldn't waste my money on a scope less than a gen3 There are people who will take you out at night with top of the line night vision optics so you can see what its like -for less than buying a nv scope Thats what I did
