Officer Matt Thompson
Officer Dyke McMahen
Officer Tracking Dog (didn’t remember the name)
PO Box 662
Quanah, Texas 79252

Gentlemen and lady,

I wanted to extend a sincere “THANK YOU” for the time you took out on this past Sunday to help me track my wounded deer.
Although we were not able to recover this animal, we did take home with us a great experience and more knowledge from when the day began. Each year I hunt, I learn something from those I come in contact with.
Please give that dog of yours a pat on the head from me. She did an outstanding job, and is a fine animal to watch work!!!!!!!
If there is anything I can do to help make your jobs easier in the future, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Thank you for your service, and looking forward to seeing you in the seasons to come!

Warmest Regards,

Ryan Armstrong

Had a cull jump the string and the arrow landed in "no man's land" right before hind quarters. Was hoping the "golden" blade hit something vial - We think liver. Tracked this fellow to the fence line and found what looked like liver and blood.

Called the warden, and off we went on a 5 hour track. As we tracked him on foot, we started to notice fresh coyote tracks in chance of this buck.

Blood started to run out, so warden brought out the dog. First time I got to see a dog work tracking deer - it was COOL! She would light on urine that was discolored due to blood mixed in it.

The warden running the dog worked his ARSE off. She was tugging him all over.

At the end of the day, these guys came out on a Sunday, and were as interested in putting this deer in the cooler as I was. Class ACT!!!!!!!!

Hey Cody - BITE ME!

Matt Thompson is a great guy. If the dog was tugging him around, that was a stout dog... We've known Matt for only two years, but he's been nothing but great for us in Foard/Hardeman Counties. Those guys have 3 and a half counties with two guys... and yes they are out there every day it seems...

I have the place next to you. I saw the GW pulling into your camp yesterday as I was going down the road.

I tried sending you a PM but you are over the limit. Delete some and I will PM you.

I have one of Dykes pups. His name is Zeke. I have only had him on one deer, but he found her pretty easily. Dyke is a good guy and a real sportsman like the rest of us.

The dog you tracked behind is named Penny and she is a duck hunting son of a gun and has located well over 20 deer.

BTW: Dyke is a forum member so you could look him up.
