Time to bring back this thread...

Last weekend shot a doe out of my tripod (30 yards away) wearing a black hoody and jeans. No cover scent or scent killer spray nothing...

Been traveling more than usual and haven't had the chance to get back in the blind. Will be duck hunting in the morning with moose and jasb.

My dad once shot a spike at 10 yds. He was walking to his stand, the deer jumped in the ditch and both of them began stalking each other at 75 yds. apart. My dad was wearing a bright teal t-shirt, jeans, and no cover scent. My brother has killed a couple of deer around 30 yds. while smoking or just after smoking. I have never used coverscents while hunting and seen plenty of deer. My co-worker said his best hunting outfit when he was younger was a good pair of gray sweat pants and a gray sweatshirt.

Great thread. I'm in total agreement with Cody on the idea that 90% or more of the stuff people buy is worthless. I hunt out of tripods in the wide open, dipping snuff, peeing off the side, and see plenty of deer. I can wear whatever I'd like, but if I move, they will spook. All about being still and moving slow in my experience.

That being said, I do wear camo much of the time. Mainly because I don't care about what happens to it when I clean what I shoot.

Finally back in action! Looks to be a good morning. We're supposed to be getting a big cold front about noon so there oughta be lots moving this morning.

I'm in the blind feeder goes off at 7.
It's one of those eerily awesome mornings. Dead calm 56 degrees and foggy. Sound carries for miles on a morning like this. I've got two horned owls hoo hooing back and forth at each other. Spooky suckers. My belly is growling.

We apparently had a strong wind at some point. All the brush is blown off of the back side of my blind. I'm basically sitting in a lawn chair in the middle of the pasture. I've got the hood of my carhart up and I'm pretty sure something is stalking me from behind. Dang it's a creepy morning.

I may or may not be able to rattle up a buck with my pop tart wrapper. Man these things are crinkly.

It just occured to me that this horn owl and I are hunting the same dang feeder. He's sitting in the very top of a big oak tree about 30 yards from it. Pretty sharp hooty owl.

I've not seen hide nor hair of any living quadruped. That front is supposed to be here at noon. I really thought the world would be crawling this morning.
