Now is the time to check for clearance hunting merchandise if your local Walmart stocks it. This morning I scored a $57 Realtree insulated coat for just $10. It seems the Walmart locations in the burbs, rather than those in more rural areas have the best clearance deals.

Academy as well. Picked up a couple of nice camo items few weeks back. Was there earlier in Arlington, getting picked over but still plenty on the shelves.

best place to outfit kids, just size up. my daughter got insulated waterproof bibs for $35 normally $100.

also best coast hunting gear. Salt eats and so abrasive nothing last long

Not sure if it’s because items are priced incorrectly by employees who don’t know any better or if the store manager simply wants it off the shelf, but sometimes you run across deals that almost make you feel guilty. I picked up several of these around this same time last year for $2.50 a pack.

True! Just bought my son the next 3 sizes of hunting boots for $9 each and a T-shirt, long sleeve, and beanie for $3-4 each. Academy had some great deals.

My local WM had NO hunting stuff marked down that I saw this morning. But they did have quite a lot of ammo in the case.

I generally don't care for the quality of Academy's hunting apparel, but I went to the Dallas Academy on NW Hwy at lunch today to see if I could find anything worthwhile for my growing sons. Not a lot of selection overall unless you are 3XL or bigger. I did manage to find 2 pairs of average quality camo pants for a total of $32, so I guess it was worth my time.

Although I love the store, I never seem to find anything decent in my size at Academy. It seems like unless you're super small or super huge, they never have anything in stock. I'll have to swing by the local Walmart to see if I can find any good deals.

I never miss a Walmart clearance aisle. They do have some great deals and thank you for the reminder.

It's funny - I saw this last year, but local store only lowered them to $8.97 or so on the 2 cartons on the shelf; keep checking to see if they would go down to $2.50, months and months went by, never lowered.
THEN they put the price back up to $16.xx or so on the exact same 2 cartons of these (I know cause I kept checking the 'fresh by' date stamped on each package.) Still 16.xx today, but somebody's been buying them only a few packs left. . .

I was in my Walmart in Amarillo this morning and they had these for less than $7. Good knife to toss in the truck for hard use so I can save my better blades.
