So a few weeks ago a I got a chocolate lab pup that we named Annie. My wife and I read some books on training and how to choose a breeder and also how to pick the right pup. Well I have to say it has paid off tremendously. This is the smartest dog I have ever owned, by far. We have had her just over 14 days and she is house broken, knows sit, stay, lay, come, her name, and can retrieve with basic skills on land and water, and knows the command "drop it". She is only 8 1/2 weeks old. I put some pictures on here and a link to a video of her at the very bottom. Now keep in mind she was tired when we filmed this because we had just walked a mile down the river, and she was fetching her dove the whole time because she is still a little whinely when she wants to fetch real bad. To see how small she still is, check her out compared to my foot. She will be about 70 pounds full grown, she is around 12 pounds right now and was the pick of the litter. Now I'm sure that people will wonder why she is fetching doves, well thats the main migratory bird we hunt, and we do it near a river, so we often have them fall in the water and float down stream.

Man I remember when My two were that small, take lots of Pics and enjoy I have one Choc that going on 14 and another Choc that is going on 4.U pay for what u get when it comes to dogs It might cost a little more up front but over the life of the dog its just pennies a month difference!!!!!And a lot less Pain in the A** training them.GREAT LOOKIN PUP

Great looking dog. Got a 1 year old myself. Took him to the trainer 2 weeks ago and he's doing great. I miss him though and can't wait to get him back.

Thanks guys. She is a great dog and I got her at a awesome price. I was a little worried because I only paid $450 for her, plus $30 for a implanted chip, and she was the pick of the litter. But in reality, all of the breeders dogs looked awesome, and all were chocolate in color. It's a full time operation they have going, and they have been doing it for a while. All of the dogs have papers, shots, etc, so it's a good deal. If anyone wants contat info for the breeder, just PM me. Also, I know that this almost looks like a advertisement, but I'm that happy with my dog and it's intelligence.

Those dogs are seriously amazing. I had been trying to train my lab/heeler/walker mix to retrieve decoys from the water for about 6 months when we took my buddy's 12-week chocolate lab to the woods for the first time. Little booger retrieved every stick, decoy, etc. we threw in from the first toss on.

That's when I gave up on Miller and decided he was a tracking dog instead. He also sucks at that.

They really are amazing, I didn't believe it until I got her, which is my first full bred dog, and my first lab all together.
