Ouch. I'm guessing that axis deer are not a cold hearty as our native Whitetail. Too bad pigs aren't susceptible to cold!

This is horrible. I see winter kill every year but I never expected to see it in Texas. How do the Oryx fair in this kind of weather?

Terrible to see this. I feel for the ranchers who suffered such great losses. Is there insurance for this type of loss? I also feel for the animals that lost their lives in that cold.
Mother nature is normally cruelest to the old, the very young, the weak and the animals that have not adapted to the environment or are not native to the region.
The silver lining in this may be the hardiness of the animals that survived, which may be passed on genetically to their offspring?

A buddy of mine showed me a very similar photo only with different P/U's. Not good.
