I have had good ones and I have had some gamey ones. Most are on protein and are pretty dang tasty.

Better than blackbuck, not near as good as axis.

I shot a very mature fallow doe (8 years old at least) last year and the meat was fantastic. Darker than axis but great flavor and the yield was fantastic, lots of meat on those haunches and neck when compared to a white tail or even axis doe. Good stuff!
