Best Looking Persian Ibex I've Seen...

This from W4 Hunting Ranch, found this picture on their site.


This is IMO one of the best looking Persian Ibex I have seen come out of Texas. For you ibex experts, is he pure? What would he go for?

he looks as pure as you'll find for Persians. I'm trying to get my hands on something like this but can't find any

Haha is it really as bad as people say it is I've never hunted any of the wild goats.

ibex hardly smell whatsoever. no different than deer.

Too bad that billy was hunted. Would have made a great breeder!

If I ever hunt a Persian like that I'll make sure to ship a certain part of him on ice if ya'll need what he had.

Most just need time to get like that. That Ibex is probably 8 or 9 years old.

His horns show a lot of the same horn structure of pure Persian ibex. Does anybody know where there are some ibex that look like these???

The Persian or bezoar ibex native to Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iraq, Iran, Russia and Turkey.They were also introduced to the Florida Mountains of New Mexico. They look nothing like most of the so-called Persian ibex found in Texas . The one in the photo above looks real close to the real thing.

I've spent a lot of money on my ibex herd...I'd pay good money if I could find a billy like this. To me they are superior to the Nubians which everyone likes...but that's just my opinion.

Both are beautiful animals, I agree with you that Persians are great looking animals, pure alpine ibex are good looking with great mass on there horns.

I wonder how they found him...or if they bred ones like these.

I have 3 herds...2 Persian herds and a Nubian herds. I like them all but really favor the Persians!

What are they? hybrids? I know Don in the past has referred to his as "Persian type ibex"

Find us the real deal and we can begin to try and preserve this great breed of ibex.

Bill Figge is the owner of W4 Hunting Ranch and is the guy in the picture with the ibex. He is a super nice guy and maybe would be willing to tell interested people where he got that ibex from. Never hurts to ask and may turn up a lead, or it may have just been luck on the color pattern that guy had. Just a thought.

Persian type does not mean pure. And I have never claimed I had either pure bred Persian or Nubian Ibex.

I'll go ahead and say it...Don's stock is as pure as one will find. All my Persian nannies minus one came from Don...I get more compliments on these nannies than one would believe. Fantastic animals...and I'm super excited that Don's Persians will live on passing their great genetics with my billies...always will be appreciative of it don!

Thanks Aaron and Rickey. I have never sold anything be it Ibex or WT or Mouflon and claimed they were anything other than what they were.

Looks like an Ibex Hybrid to me...but I'll defer to the folks who breed them to tell you for sure.

buck wild- that is a top of the line hybrid ibex- looks real good. Much nicer than the ones available out here in california. Just curious- how much did you pay for him to hunt?
