Ok im going on my first turkey hunt on may 4-5th. And my gun does not have a full choke. It is a browning a 500 12 gauge.. does the choke have to be made by browning and made to fit just my model and be customized? Or can it just be a full choke? If i need to order one which do u recommend as the best? Thanks guys!

So your gun has screw-in chokes and you don't have a full choke tube is that right? I'm not sure how much a choke tube would cost for you gun, but one option to consider is the Federal flight control shells. Search for it on this forum or the web, as I recall reading these shells work best with more open chokes. Just an option.

Briley chokes have a good reputation. Here is their hunting selection:
Briley Chokes I use them in my Beretta for dove hunting and like the patterns I get on the board. They have a turkey choke in development that I may have to get for my new Weatherby Turkey gun. I just got hooked on turkey hunting & can't attest to ammo, but the Federal Flight Control mentioned gets good reviews.

I have done some similar research so I had this at hand. Hope it helps.

Hevi-shot Magnum Blend (rebate available right now)
Your gun + Hevi-shot choke + Hevi-shot Magnum Blend = dead turkey at distance
No customization required.

Hornady has a good turkey load, for modified's and IC's. that said, I used a .658 Carlson choke, Hevi-13, #6.
I would have liked to have tried the Hornady Turkey load though.

Hornady turkey loads have underperformed all shells I have tried in 4 dif guns. Nova, m1, sb2, a5. With over $1000 plus invested in different shell/choke combos these rank worst along w fiocchi. Not sure why bc I like other products by these manufacturers but honestly they are pretty awful. Try a google search and I imagine you will hear the same. I would consistently get about 40% of my better patterns out if these brands. If going the cheap route try winchesters
