Rookie question here:
Is using a fawn bleat call during the time does are dropping an effective method?

It has been effective for me at my lease during times I was there for spring Turkey season. That does not mean a different call may have been more effective or just as good.

I don't use it because it calls in a lot of does and a few bucks...based on 2 experiences. Worked great for calling in deer.

Cottontail works here much better.

Not knowing what I was doing a couple of years ago, and I still don't, I applied your same logic. Played fawn distress calls thinking I'd get some coyotes to come in. Instead, I had about 20 doe staring at the call from across the field.

This time of year I like pup distress, den raids, woodpecker, and rabbit calls, in that order.
