chicken killer is gone!

chicken killer is gone! - 08/20/22 04:56 PM

Heard a commotion this morning and discovered a coyote right in the middle of the free ranging chickens. He finally grabbed the rooster (the only one, of course) and took off running for a creek bed. I got my stuff together and began tracking him, following the trail of feathers. Finally tracked him down, tearing at the rooster, and ended his miserable life with the Sharps.

I've got a bobcat coming around, that needs the same 'medicine'.
It's decimating our flock whenever we let them out to free-range.

Atta Boy, Mike! Trailing down a coyote is no small feat.
Adios,

Thanks for the compliment, Gary, but his victim left plenty of feathers for me to use for tracking! Plus I was infuriated; he was my last mature rooster and I was determined to make sure he was dead, and not laying off somewhere waiting to mend up well enough to hit the flock again!

The little guy was just hungry and didn't know he was doing wrong. The samething can be said about the one that got my cat and I wish I could have caught him and tortured him. Glad you got this one.
