Got one coyote

No luck deer hunting this morning, but after I went back to the stand a big coyote showed up. Looked like he had a bad hair day with his back all bristled up. I suppose he was one of the 3 I’ve seen at distance. He stopped trotting long enough to stand next to a pole that I knew to be 250 yards. I set the CDS on the VX5 and put one right through his heart. I swear that was more fun than if I shot a doe. He was right at 35 pounds, a big un.

I like that scope, and will until I miss and blame it on the scope.

A really good shot, be it on a secondary target or your intended prey, still feels like a really good shot! Well done!

Same here. Passed on some young bucks this morning. Oldest boy and I went out this afternoon to see not a single deer. Tried calling hogs then after things got dark switched to varmint. He has a bright light on his AR and this big male couldn't resist.
