Nutria Hunting with Dogs

Nutria Hunting with Dogs - 01/18/21 09:56 PM

Hey y'all,

Do many people hunt nutria rats with dogs? Their burrows are pretty wide and I've heard they don't go too deep. I imagine it would be a fun and productive sport to get rid of nuisance rats with working terriers or dachshunds, similar to fox hunting. I am interested in going out with someone that does, and possibly getting into it myself.

Thanks,
Pete

Eliminate every one I can. Destroy a pond damn just like a beaver.

I did, when I had jagdterriers. Mostly got into them in drainage pipes and the like. Quickly found out digging isn't very fun in Texas.

@machine73: How deep did you have to dig down after them? Those Jagdterriers look like some fun.
