Where can I shoot Rats ? - 05/17/20 10:58 PM
Hi,
Any of you know where I can shoot some rats ?
I wanted to try some night vision gear on a low power air rifle, and shoot some rats with it.
Let me know if you or someone you know needs to get rid of some rats.
Thanks

I have a list of them in DC but I think you will need more than a air rifle.

only rat shooting i ever did was as a kid in my grandfathers hay barn. he had pallets on the floor to keep the hay up off the dirt. at the tail end of winter when most of the hay was fed out we'd go in there with a .410 and turn the pallets over 1 by 1 and shoot at whatever was underneath. lots of field rats. some skunks and snakes and other vermin too.

https://www.t3pranchags.comAirgun only hunting, and has airguns of all kinds on loan and a catfish pond. $150 a day if I recall, also has a catfish pond. I just never made it out there. 10 hours one way trip for me, I just don't have time for that right now.
He's got alot of rats and stuff out there apparently plenty of pigs running around too.

Although to be honest, if you just want to blast rats, best thing to do is set up a plywood backstop with a 2x4 "walkway" leaned against the fence out back and smear and mash globs of penut butter on there. Rats will come... so will everything else...

when growing up we had infestation of rats, don't remember how we got rid of, one of the neighbors stuck a propane hose down the hole and got quite few that way, another neighbor's kid (was a little handicapped) tried the propane, guess he used to much, blew up the barn

That was LOL for me.....yikes!
Read the restriction on airguns in Plano. Sad day when a Dad and his 6 year old can't shoot bb guns in the backyard.
In Lewisville, it's legal as long as you shoot on your property, projectile doesn't cross property line and you're not in public view with an air rifle that looks like (facsimile) a firearm. The last part is subjective, but reasonable people get it.
The suggestion on peanut butter on a 2" x 4" walkway works.
