This B!$%#

This B!$%# - 11/26/19 09:36 PM

Stepped into my shooting lane after the neighbors llamas and donkeys chased her through the pasture. I saw them running but didn't see her until she went under the fence. I lost her in the high blue stem but then she popped out about 30 yards away. I must have knocked everything in the stand over reaching for my rifle. She stopped for a second see where the noise came from. That was a mistake. She was missing her back right paw and had what looked like healed road rash on the right rump. She was very healthy otherwise and pretty full judging from her bulging belly.

Would have been but the other side had a big spot that had no fur. If it wasn't for that it would have been a great pelt. I might do a little calling soon. I saw a fox in my driveway that evening and it looked great. Do any of you ever have them tanned? If so where do you send them to?

That's a nice healthy looking one. Shame about the foot and the off side bald spot.

Well this one came running in on 3 legs tracking a doe that just passed by. I whistled out and she stopped. Boom! Now this one still had her paw but the scar from something wrapped around it was visible. Looks like someone is trying to snare them but they keep escaping. That's 2 in 2 weekends. I could hear her partner calling for her after the shot but it never came in.

Road rash, missing foot, sounds like Wiley coyote.

They'll definitely get out of a snare on occasion. Usually twist off...if a swivel isn't used.

Glad you got that one. Coyotes and Hogs are 'shoot on sight' vermin on my property.
