1 Coyote, Maybe 2, CRD Berger AR Hybrid OTM Ammo - 09/22/19 07:10 PM
Chad at Custom Reloads of Dallas loaded me up some factory new ammo with Berger AR Hybrid OTM 130 bullets and Hornady brass for my 6.5 Grendel. The ammo chrono'd at 2250 fps out of my 18" barrel and the zero point was about 1" high from where I had zeroed the Nosler 140 gr. BTHP he had loaded for me previously. It was close enough that I did not adjust my scope at all.
On my first property, spied two coyotes quartering in my direction and I went out about 200 yards to try to intercept them. The intercept was closer than anticipated. I managed to drop one and hit another, but was unable to determine the status of the latter as it was lost from view in high vegetation and the later search failed to recover it.
The Berger bullet seemed to perform well, entering the shoulder and exiting about 9" away on the opposite side, far back on the rib cage with a nice, large exit wound.
I had hoped to get a shot at a nice boar, but cattle completely ruined that stalk.
