Increased Coyote Activity?

Increased Coyote Activity? - 10/30/17 05:08 PM

Was out at the lease yesterday morning and saw two coyotes from the stand early in the morning and four more, driving back to camp. Typically, I would see no more than one. Weather was cold/cool, windy and sunny. Any guesses why? More quail? Moon phase? Interesting coincidence?

Everything gets more active when it cools down. I killed 7 hogs this weekend on Ft Hood and the gut piles were gone between the morning and evening hunts. If you think you have a problem start trapping.

The cool mornings inspired me to start my coyote calling season. Seems like good numbers with the rain we have had where I hunted. I went last Monday afternoon and then again Friday & Saturday afternoon and killed 14 coyotes. Called 3 bobcats up close along with two greys that I passed on. Oh whacked two raccoons and one boar hog just because they showed up at the wrong time.

Sure wish this site had a way to post pictures from IOS that worked.
