Sparse Sightings - 01/14/12 04:40 AM

Hog hunting is gettin a bit slow...late to early mornings on cam. Left the cam out for a week and only had a few pics of pigs. Tube is still a quarter full. They seem really on edge in the pics too. Dont know if its the side of the river or what...

Hogs on our lease have been nocturnal for about 5 months now.

They were hitting our feeders hard and heavy until the acorns dropped.
About the same time we started having some rain here and there.
Once the greenery started coming up from the rains, the piggies slacked off at the feeders.

I did notice by watching the game cameras that they are starting to move earlier and even showing up before dark.
Had a group of 5 around 60 pounds each come out last Wednesday while I was in the box blind.
1 DRT, one ran off wounded in follow up shots but I found him yesterday, thanks to the buzzards....

Okay, help me out here. How have you ascertained that the hogs seem really on edge in the pictures? To me, they look pretty much like all the other hogs I see feeding in game cam pics.
