They advertise it out to 250 yards. I'd recommend the green version to shoot that far out over the red. I was out this past weekend using both the green and red version and neither one seemed to bother deer or coons. I've spotted Jack Rabbits with both and they didn't seem to be bothered either.

You'll need a scope with a large exit pupil diameter. The larger, the better off you'll be. Long eye relief helps too. i have one of the Redfield 3-9x50 scopes. I thionk there're pretty good, but I havn't compared it to anything other than some Nikon Buckmaster scopes and a couple different Bushnell Legend scopes. It out performs them by a wide margin. I leave mine on 3x power to find the eyes. Once I get on target at 3x I zoom all to 9x with no problems.

Bob in Tx has some great advice

Bob, Rcinit,

The XLR and ND3 laser lights, will these work on regualar scopes? or are they to enhance night vision scopes only?

Yes, the the XLR 250 works with regular rifle scope. The 250 comes with several different ways to mount it to your rifle/scope too. Batteries, charger, and a different switch also comes with it.
