less than 100 yds.

.223 is fine for coyotes so a 7.62 round would do just fine too. If you can hit it the wiley coyote will go down for sure.

If you can hit em with 7.62x39 they will go down for sure even if they wear kevlar vest.

Absolutely, ak is the most field tested, proven gun in existence, it was developed to kill humans in a specific range, 100 yards definitely falls into that range. Any thing that will put human will put down a yote.

Cigarettes and fatty foods kill alot of humans. Next time I go out I'm hunting with a carton of marlboros and a box of popeyes chicken.

Huh? confused2

I'd get closer than 100 yds with an AK if I were trying to kill a yote and retrieve it. I'd expect a wounding shot at 100 though just because they're so inaccurate. If I didn't care about getting the pelt an AK will do a great job of getting rid of them.

With that gun you can go muddin with pigs and still shot em yotes afterwards.

No problem at all using an AK on yotes.

Take a look at Century Arms VZ2008, its a 762x39 caliber and if you can get your hands on one the price is definitely right!

Accuracy is same or better than most of the AK's out there.

What kind of options do you have in the 7.62x39? Other then FMJs I think I would have to do mail-order in my area. Even then I only had a choice between a 123gr FMJ & a 123gr HP. I think that may be the biggest knock against that round! Just not a lot of options! Your typical predator rounds (22-250, .223 & .243) usually offer variety. As far as puting a coyote down, absolutley!

I pick up Herters 154gr SP for my SKS whenever I am at Cabelas. It is by far the most accurate thing I have fed it and it does a good job on hogs. I am sure it would do just fine on yotes.

Sure you could use one for yotes, but if you are buying a gun just for yote hunting i would look into getting something more geared for yotes.

My dad puts down hogs and yotes with his 7.62x39 AK, but they also come in .223. It just depends on what you want.

I can't imaging a coyote surviving an under 150y 7.62x39 shot that's not in a leg or butt or a graze.
