Texas Panhandle wild pheasant report. - 12/04/21 02:02 AM
I know it's been dry this year but it would be nice to get an update on the wild pheasant population. Twenty or thirty years ago I would drive up there to hunt them, even if I missed every bird it was fun to watch them flush and glide across the big fields.

We made our annual opening day hunt last Saturday and Sunday and had good success.
It is extremely dry so it was hard for the dogs to scent but 20 of us hunted Saturday and I think everybody got birds. Some quail were also harvested, bumped several pretty big coveys. We found birds on every field that we hunted,
Weather was perfect, 28 to 58 with low winds.
It's fun every year, the dogs love it and so we go.
