Freelancing on the prairie

Freelancing on the prairie - 11/05/19 01:37 PM

The Pudelpointer and me just got home from some freelancing on the prairie for wild pheasant with my long time hunting buddy and his GSP. We also did a little goose hunting. The dogs work well together and back one another. Combined with the running nature of the birds and the wide open spaces of the prairie, it made for some spectacular dog work. I don’t take a lot of pics other than a few glory shots at the end of the day.
I lost my old dog last year. The old girl showed me a lot of good times in a lot of good places. I had her body cremated and liberated her ashes in a special place on the prairie where we shared some large times. When I was done reminiscing, I put the Pudelpointer on the ground and let him run some of the cover. It was a fitting tribute to an old friend.

Thank you colt 45. The credit on the pheasant goes to the dogs handling of runners.

Thank you fray. Pics are actually multiple days and locations. They represent the possession limit on the roosters.
