Wild Quail West of Houston

We have ranches with native goat weed and great quail habitat in the Sealy and Eagle Lake areas. For the 2019-20 quail season, we are offering a very limited number of hunting memberships. Had some great hunts on the Chesterfield pasture.

Truchard wasn’t happy if you hunt one day a week. He wouldn’t renew my lease for this reason. He had a 5 bird limit rule also. When he told me he didn’t like me hunting one day a week I offered to renew if he would just let me run my young dogs without a gun. He still didn’t like the idea

My friend with the red setters made a little loop in that area yesterday and found no quail

My Britt pointed a covey on the roost one morning on one of the Truchard pastures.

They pointed 5 coveys today in a hour and a half walking. I no longer walk.
