This time of year they get clean, shaved and spend a few weeks in the house. I love a French Brittany!

Not the only thing. Mine used to get into the cockleburs. Dang those things are hard to get out of their fur. Ones under their arm pits were the worst.

Clean, shaved, and ready to be a house dog. Now I just have to do the orange one.

Her Daddy and Punkin are getting shaved this weekend.

My old quail hunting buddy had two Brittanys. There were several trips we spent more time removing cockleburrs than hunting. And then there was the time one of them got tangled up in a pile of discarded razor wire (military base). That was not a fun event. We all left some blood behind that day...along with a pile of dog hair.

Lucy got a cut tonight. The bride said I butchered her and alcohol doesn’t mix with clippers. I think I did a great job? Lucy seems to like the cut, she’s always smiling. That’s a lot of bird dog packed into 30 pounds! Her nose weighs 25.

Wife took her Britt today for a haircut.

Looking good. Both of yall. Lucy definitely has the family smile. Bleu and Coco are always smiling.

Dixie and fur Dixie.

Popular name for Britts! That’s our Britts name.

Coco and Lucy's mom is named Dixie. I had a black and white GSP named Dixie. Gave to a guy near Houston, he let her run free some and she dissapeared. (Go figure). That fur Dixie cracked me up.

I keep Lacy shaved year around. No shedding and she is prettier shaved.

My Brit insists on haircuts year-round.
He runs hot.

I’d like to see some pictures of Lacy. She was a nice looking pup, I probably would have picked her over Lucy. I liked her black leg. That’s one of the things I like about the French Brittany’s. They’re different looking. I remember the first one I got back in ‘96. He was a tricolor. Boudreaux was a fine bird dog and I believe the first Frenchy to point blues in west Texas. He always got funny looks and questions when I’d unload him with guys I’d not hunted with. He got a lot of skepticism until he started finding bird.
I had an old pro dog trainer last year hunting with us that had never seen one. He commented on how pretty my gyp Kate was when I let her out. He commented at the end of the day he’d never seen any Brittany Hunt like that. She put on a show with two nice pointers on the ground. I don’t brag on my dogs with my hunting partners but I’ll brag online.

Where’s the pics of Coco and Bleu?

I did Punkin and Bleu. It was hot as hell and by the time I had both done, pic was the last thing I was thinking of. I think my wife got a couple, I'll ask. Coco doesn't get as fuzzy as they do. Neither does star.
