Very nice. I plan on making that trip next year. When you say bird numbers were good, what type numbers were you seeing daily?

Who are the outfitters? A friend and I would like to go. Thanks
Nice, thanks for sharing! I hunted blues and pheasant around Dalhart earlier this season and had a blast. I wanted to make a trip to New Mexico this season but heard the numbers were bad. Next year for sure!

We probably had between 10-15 coveys a day. One day was blowing 50+ so we harvested about half compared to other days. The birds run hard and a dog/dogs have to be relocation specialists on the scaled quail. Very different style of hunting and will certainly test a dog.

Congrats on a much better season than I found. In six outings in NM I found one whole covey. Granted four of those hunts were in areas not known for holding strong bird populations but still...
