Heart worm for my dog - 09/26/17 05:40 PM

I couldn't find where this was covered even though I swear I've seen it somewhere. It's time for a new heart worm med. I'm thinking about changing. What is your recommendation??

I dilute 1 % Ivermectin with vegetable glycerin. Its a whole lot cheaper than buying stuff from the vet and is the exact same thing you find in Heartgard.

I always used Ivermectin on my dogs, just straight out of the tube, never had problems or worms.

I have been using the Ivermectin paste from the tube for years and never had a problem with heartworms or intestinal parasites.
I did read not long ago that some tests were done on dogs after hurricane Katrina hit Nola that found some dogs with heartworm infestation that had been treated with Ivermectin. These were studied and found that the parasites were resistant to Ivermectin.
