Gonna be too shot out this time of year to be worth a try?
We're camping at Copper Breaks in a few days and might swing over there for a hunt or two. Never been.

We saw more hunters the first weekend than we saw the entire season last year. I don't know about shot out, but i can guarantee the birds will be educated and skiddish

It's been hit really hard. We were there on the re opener. Itwas no walk in the park like it was early this season. We had good weather and we hunted so hard I skipped the next day. The birds are definitely running which made for some great dog work. We had lots of points with nothing there and the dogs lost them.
At this point you really have to be into watching dogs work. Hunting with no dogs would be a joke. Those birds are sneaky and like to run. Getting your dog to stay on them and pin them is a miracle when it happens
I have a pretty good dog but I'm used to hunting public lands hard and getting like 1 bird. As long as I wouldn't be out for just a hike with no birds at all.

Someone should invite him on a really good hunt if he's able to go before the end of the season. I would but I no longer have a lease.

I was there yesterday. It was crowded. I had several birds flush between 40 and 100 yards when I was walking into a 15 mph wind. They are skitish.
