Quail hunting at James Daughtrey WMA?? - 10/14/15 05:46 PM

Hello,
Anyone ever try public quail hunting at James Daughtrey WMA?
Thoughts? Feedback? Results?

I usually hunt the Chap but also looking at other options given the favorable year for quail.

Thanks.

I love hunting the chap. Are you going for the opener?

I went to James Daugherty several years ago and it did not seem to be very favorable for quail. Several small compartments that had too much brush and not much of it was walkable. There was one compartment that was walkable and was a nice field but since its been so long I couldn't tell you which one it was.

I am planning on it, as well as the Dec. and New Years hunts.

For James Daugherty, I am OK so long as there are reasonable shooting lanes between/around the brush. I don't run dogs, so I am not too concerned about beating the brush.
