Ruff Grouse

Filled my deer quota last weekend so it was time to switch gears to grouse.

Went out for a few hours this afternoon and flushed 5 birds and managed to connect with 3 of them:



Sorry for the lousy photo - I still use an old flip phone and if I forget the real camera this is the result.

I miss the upland birds, we don't get a lot of that down here.

Are you using dogs on grouse

I don't have a bird dog but that is the best way to do it - far more productive. If I had a good dog I could have had my bag limit in half the time it took me to get three.
