ISO OSDC - 03/26/23 09:01 PM

Figure I might try here....
If you have an older RNT daisy cutter laying around and wanting to sell it, I would love to make a deal happen. The older the better, but looking for a toneboard that is 2017 and older.

Don't have one, but have the newer DCX and am not a fan.

There is a Facebook page called, "rnt small batch and high end calls" that you may want to join and keep an eye on.

Other than that, keep your eye in ebay.

I surf the bay quite often. Really bummed i missed a 2001 mint RNT original by 2 dollars this morning. Made me sick. I refuse to make a social media page. Although, I have seen some really nice calls get posted over time. Just looking for the older RNT stuff. Nothing compares to the old tone boards. Have a 2004 short barrel that I would put up against anything RNT. With that said, I dont hunt RNT but I have a small collection and always trying to add to it.

With that said, I have an SBX that might be one of my favorites out of the new stuff. Ran a double dog ear tune in it. Recently just changed it back as the top end wasn't stellar but good gawd the call was nasty with that tune in it. Been really thinking hard about a DCX. What don't you like about it?

Ya I got a short barrel and timbre that are probably 20 years old. The Diablo and timbre are my 2 favorite RNT calls.

The DCX sounds good at mid range(medium volume), but the low end(low volume) and top end (high volume) just does not sound good to me.

I've hunted enough to know the birds don't care, but I'm not hunting with a call that doesn't produce the sound I'm looking for. I've got probably 20 calls in the closet that aren't what I'm looking for.

How is that diablo? I have the daisy slayer and Timber in that style barrel. The timber is alright, the daisy slayer is PIA to tune and get right. Always messing with reed designs. Prefer the Lil richie and the Echo timber over those calls though for a softer call. Still can't get away from my lares T1, RM 410 and FTM, and the makers origin. Probably my top 4 calls for ducks out of the 40-50 I have sitting on the shelf. Going to run that RM Big truck for half the season. Love the rattle in that call but not sure its going to fit my likes as I love a young hen sound, but there is something about a deep nasally hen sound that I really want to test out and I think that call gets pretty close.

Interested in what calls you have in the closet sir, as I am always adding to my collection. Its a bad bad addiction. Let me know if you want to offload any.... including that dcx.

The Diablo is my #1 call, great low and mid range and just does everything I want it to without having to think about it.. It's that old nasally raspy hen sound that I really like.

Other calls I have, RNT mondo LAS, lares hybrid, a Copeland cuttdown. And everything else is a mix of wood duck calls, gadwall calls, goose calls, cheapo DU or Delta calls that they give as member gifts.

I can’t get into the cutdown game.

Ya mondo's and cutt downs are not my thing either. I bring one along on some of those super windy days for the volume. But im not a great caller with them.

RM 410.... you gotta try one if you want volume. That call gets LOUD! Even the FTM gets loud. Its shocking because the 410 is the smallest call that Ronnie puts out, but OMG does it sound good and get up there in tone and whiny and low.

Duck call trader on FB might be your best option to find the old barrel style daisy cutter.
