Ducks flying

Ducks flying - 01/27/22 03:03 PM

Not to step on olducker's post but another old ducker here and what I saw yesterday got the blood flowing again. Yesterday wife and were road tripping and was at Choke Canyon state park and saw about 200 birds get up circle around for about five minutes and then go back down. Brought back many memories of hunting the flooded timbers and fields between Dumas and Tilar Arkansas. Still have the waders and gun but no decoy's nor my old hunting dog. Maybe next year I may spoil myself and go back there on a guided trip, stand in waist deep water, lean back on an old oak tree and try my luck again.

Go to academy and get a dozen deeks and you are good to go, there is good walk in hunting there. I went there one weekend to walk in hunt, but it rained all weekend and dirt roads were too muddy.

I did a couple walk in hunts this year for the fun of it.

I have a boat but at my age, 74, I think a guide hunt would be smarter that wading around by myself. I also like greenies and the Mississippi flyway use to be one of the best places for them.
