Decoys

In North Central Texas, would you prefer gradually or widgeon decoys for both parts of the season? Hunting mostly tanks and small lakes. Thanks!

Gadwall, ring neck, and widgeon

Get the largest decoys you can find -------- doesn't matter what color they are painted.

hen Mallards work as gadwalls, get a few wigeons if they are common in your area plus a couple of divers for some white to make your rig have some brightness.

Spoonies, lots of white on them and a common bird in the area. Tanglefree makes a nice spoonie decoy that I like.
