Stiles Farm 2020 - 09/02/20 12:55 PM

Anyone go out to Stiles Farm yesterday? (or this morning before it's about to wash out judging from radar) Will be out Friday, bringing my mud boots. Any luck? Number of hunters out? Any tips on which gate to enter? First hill country foray after hunting my FIL property in Royse City in the past decade.

I went last year and the grass was 6ft high in most places. We shot a few birds. But it was tough finding the birds with out a dog.

Appreciate that, which gate did you enter? Maybe 1 of other 2 wouldn't be as overgrown . . .

Yeah, even more later in the day, plus forecast for more. But, limited on my dates, so may just drive out there early no matter what just to check it out.

I haven't hunted there since they cut the milo. It was pretty slow before that. I passed by it on the way home last Sunday and didnt see any doves on wires or anything flying. Dove reports are like the weather - you have to poke your head outside to see if there are any around cause 5 minutes later it's all different.

Just curious....usually hunt in Hutto but it has been slow also. I am going to head out to Stiles and see if anything is flying, worse case it will be a nice cool morning to drink coffee and watch the sunrise.

That's why I dont mind hunting even when its slow. You still get to enjoy the time! Good luck, be safe.
