favorite MIXED bag - 08/11/20 05:10 PM

After reading the "Mallard Snob" thread, it got me thinking about how much I enjoy a nice mixed bag of ducks. I mostly hunt the Katy prairie/Garwood area with the occasional N. TX hunt mixed in, but I have come to realize it's highly unlikely that I'll ever get a Mallard + kicker limit. One of the cooler ones I saw on another hunting site was a pic of an all drake limit including a mallard, BWT, Wigeon, Pintail, Cinnamon teal and a Mottled duck. So my question is, what's your favorite mixed bag? Pics are welcomed!!

It’s been a few years but back when I lived in LA I hunted public land in Venice often. One day my buddy and I took our time shooting 2 limits of an all drake mixed back outside of 2 hen cans. It was pretty magical getting to pick them all out. [Linked Image]

my favorite mixed bag would be drake mallard, pintail, wigeon, can, gadwall, and woodie. You could take a calendar photo with that bag.

I shoot a lot of gaddie, wigeon mixed bags

Throw in a pin, mallard and a can and I'd call that pretty much perfect!

Mixed Bags are the best! Hard to say what my favorite would be the fun part about them is you never know what they'll be made up of!

Airboat hunt down on the coast, he had to bail out the "boxes", that we stood/sat in...it was a magical day...my son had won the hunt at the DU Dinner in San Marcos...3 plus the guide...with all the shooting we ended up posing a mixed bag string of drakes: Goldeneye, Redhead, Bluebill, Widgeon, Pintail and Mottled Duck(Double banded Drake)...really cool to hear the lone Mott drake and his "Greeeep, Greeep" call as he circled and finally committed...black lab Raelette, wearing earmuffs made a funny picture too..."Mutt muffs" I think they are called

Coolest to me mixed bag in peanut fields near Rule, TX

Canada geese
Snow geese
Speckled belly geese
Pintail
Mallard
green wing teal
extra bonus Sand Hill Crane

That was quite morning.

On a different hunt mallard drakes, Wood duck Drake and Black duck Drake. Point system days a hunt lasted less than 30 minutes on public land in MS

IMO the perfect mixed bag has some sprigs and just as importantly zero tank turds.

This mixed bag from last year was the best because it was the first time this 12 year old went hunting and she should be hooked for life.

Hard for me to decide which is my favorite mixed bag: ducks and geese, mixed bag of ducks, ducks/geese/cranes...

This is still one my most memorable hunts: 2 limits of mixed bag ducks, nearly 2 limits of Canada geese and Cranes

This was also one of my favorites:

Or maybe this opening day mixed bag:

Last year, had been chasing this buck all season, but we wanted to duck hunt as well. So, we set up and shot our ducks, then I quietly made my way into the deer blind about 8am to see if this deer would come in later in the morning. It all worked out as he came out about 30 minutes after I sat down. Ducks and Bucks!

Aggieduck, really like that quail/pheasant mixed bag. Been about 15yrs since I have hunted quail very much. Miss watching the dogs work and the heart skipping a beat on a covey rise!
