Sitka Gear - 07/01/20 11:39 PM

Not that any of y'all care, but if you do, Sitka dropped some of their 2020 waterfowl gear today, and will release the rest in 7-10 days time.
Ready to get me some new waders!

Will most likely be adding a waterfowl timber vest to the lineup this season...

I was holding out due to rumors of a new water design. Heard conflicting information about if it was going to happen.

I'd love the white gradient but mostly for dog training.

I have an XL Dakota hoodie Id sell. Bought it last year and wore it once. Too short for me. I like longer jackets. Sitka XLT fits me way better!

So far Im not impressed by the new release. I was expecting more. The Bayou blind bag was something I heard last year. Now seeing it, its way too big for my likings.

Im still on the fence about buying their waders. I want them, just hard to drop a G on waders.

In the podcast I listened to, it's slight changes to the waders, but he didn't say what. They are using a new boot and it's still a Lacrosse boot.
He also said to fix your own waders with the field kit they send, then at the end of the season, send them in for a proper fix, that's the point of their waders warranty.

He said the bayou blind bag was like 3-4 years in the making I think. It looks like a good pack, but not for me as it's too small.
They said a few more things are dropping too, it was a good podcast, nice to understand more on how Sitka works behind the scenes in their R&D.
I'm the guy that takes everything in on the walk in. I'm not going to have a hunt ruined after walking a mile plus in bc my barrel got plugged and cant clean it out etc. I"m the one that jokingly gets made fun of for all the stuff I carry, but I can guarantee you I'll be the first one you turn to if you need something.

Same here. Waiting to get the zip up. I have already been wearing Cabelas breathable for the last 10 years but since they sold out to Bass Pro I don’t like the style or look.

You are going to love the waders. I've been wearing them for almost 2 full seasons (got them November 2018) and they are 12/10 stars. I abuse my gear and have had no leaks whatsoever. They are tough and the most comfortable waders I have ever worn by a long shot.

Mack's is taking pre-orders, just can't pull the trigger $999. waders,

Re: Sitka Gear - 07/08/20 01:05 AM

I like that gradient cold weather bib, looks like it would be nice and warm under your waders. But it just doesn't get that cold in north texas for me to use it. Most the time I'm just wearing Jean's or sweat pants. If it drops below freezing I put some of my first lite wool John's on and they have always kept me plenty warm.

When my simms crap out on me I may try their waders, but I got close to 10 years of hard use out of my simms so they will be hard to look at other brands when I need a new pair.

I just wish simms came in a better camo, but I've had no problems with the grey flaring birds.

Sitka has some zip waders in stock. I am still waiting since I am needing a large tall. I didn’t see the reg waders in stock yet.

Check macks and Rogers too.

Thought about doing the pre order at Mack’s but that’s as far as it went.

Re: Sitka Gear - 07/13/20 05:33 PM

I went ahead and did it and ordered them. Got them in and they are pretty damn nice.

Talked to a guy at Sitka and looks like the 2020 zip waders is the same as the 2019.

Re: Sitka Gear - 07/13/20 06:03 PM

Did you consider buying their new wader carry bag? I'm using a plastic bag but it's awkward transporting the waders on a vehicle, ATV, or UTV.

Re: Sitka Gear - 07/13/20 08:00 PM

No. Mine go in the back of the truck or side by side then on me. No need for a wader bag.

Sinkey ordered a pair for each day of the week.

Re: Sitka Gear - 07/14/20 04:08 AM

I like the warranty on the waders but what is the turn around time for repairs? It would suck to spend a grand on waders and have something happen during the season and there be a 3-5 week repair time. Then you got to go out and spend a couple hundred on a backup pair or goop them to limp through the season, but then will they still warranty then after you got goop all over them?

They send a field repair kit with the waders to fox yourself during season.
They basically say send them in at the end of the year to get looked at.

At the rate we've been going through Banded waders, we need about 7 pair!
