Awesome John. If the birds are still around I need to come see you. I'm sure you're booked solid.

Opening weekend is Bobby, but as you know I like October better, and have plenty of room for day hunts.

That is a beautiful sight.

Question, have you ever raised a variety that could be harvested for the seeds after hunting, or before?

No, these are all natives, I don't plant them. I add some fertilizer, turn the dirt, pray for rain and they come up volunteer. Cut strips in August and again in late September, and after dove season I mow them all down.

I do have a neighbor that raises natives and sells them to Turner seed, they harvest them in July. Those fields are generally not very good Dove hunting for some reason. I know they don't get all the seeds but not sure why they don't hold that many birds. Maybe because the guy mows and turns those fields right after they're harvested.

Stompy you are the master dove habitat guy. Had someone tell me the best looking cows are the ones on the best looking grass.

I don't know about all that, Mother Nature has a lot to do with it. I do appreciate it though.
