Champion Duck Calls--Beaumont TX - 05/19/20 03:37 PM
Neighbor lady gave me some hunting stuff from her husband.
There are two (2) ducks calls which appear to be old.
They are wood and are two piece. The metal on one call appears to be brass and the other is of silver color. The mouth end is slit/tapered to accept the reed. There is a metal collar which slips off to be able to insert the reed and then slip back on to hold the reed in place.
There is a piece of metal bent in half that slips into the mouth piece, I guess to keep the mouth piece open when not being used. Under the call is a piece of wire bent in a “u” which the metal collar is tied to with a piece of string.
Note inside the box from Champion: “These extra reeds are slightly curved. Put the curve looking “up”.
Apply a little wet soap to the rubber wedges to them into place easily”.
Reeds and rubber wedges are in the box.
Any insight into the calls or is there any collector interest such?

Sounds like they are tongue pinchers. Google "tongue pincher duck calls" and look at the images.
