Some on the wires but not as many as usual. Talked to GW a few days ago, he said numbers were down all over the county. The fields look fantastic, all they got to do is show up...

I believe the birds are going to be scattered for awhile are deer lease usually doesn’t have a lot of sunflowers on it but this year probably because of all the rain now there’s sunflowers everywhere.

I think this year will be better than last year but not what were hoping for. I'll be satisfied with enough birds for a few weekends until the northern birds show up. Hopefully next year we get back to spectacular hunting

We can always hope, but from what I've heard, its not much different than last year in the Breckenridge and Woodson areas.

Don’t post much on here, but read a lot. It’s all speculation! My place is west of Woodson. Stripped sunflowers, mowed sunflowers, plowed ground in between. Seed everywhere! Birds come and go. Some days they are there, some days they are not. Two weeks ago while I was plowing, I thought it was three years ago based on the birds I was seeing, yesterday, not so much. There is feed everywhere. Rain west of us now, cooler end of next week. We need both badly, this country is burning up and tanks are dropping daily. Cattle are getting cake to supplement protein lost. Go hunting! Enjoy family and friends! Tell stories, laugh, and hopefully the birds show up. It’s the best part of the year for our area. Enjoy, there will be some birds to shoot, maybe not like 3-4 years ago, but there will be some birds.

I hear we have the sunflowers. Were south of Throckmortan. The feed...if its there puts us ahead of last year. We all shot limits opening day last year then the 2nd day it was all but over.
