Blaze Orange req - 01/15/19 08:02 PM

Going to be duck hunting on Rayburn near Broaddus this weekend. Does anyone know what the Fed blaze orange requirement is on CoE territory?

I googled “ Sam Rayburn duck hunting regs “

Answer is on page 23. You’re welcome.

This is not true. You have to wear it at all times. up

BTW, on that lake, lead shot is allowed and you don't need a plug in your shotgun.

Oh, and you can sleep in. No hunting until 10 am.

You don't but your dog does. Cut straight from that corps document posted peep

Any hunter using dogs in legal hunting activities must exercise control over their dog(s),
dog(s) may not exceed 6 dogs per dog handler, must have GPS tracking collars, and
Blazed Orange Safety Vest worn at all times.

Hopefully you like deep water and gators. That’s all I’ve seen the past few times out there

I thought steel only for waterfowl was a federal law. I did not know there were places you could still use lead.

I'm not a waterfowl hunter... yet. Soon.

There are several “hazing” posts in this thread. Read the rules for waterfowl hunting.

Don’t listen to all the answers, the first thing to remember is Do Not mention what lake you are hunting or they will beat you up about it. You Cannot use lead shot for waterfowl. It is best to look up the Regis or call the COE and ask directly to get the correct answer.
