How are the ringneck ducks and widgeon for table fare? First time shooting either.

Wigeon good, ringnecks... well, a dog gotta eat.

Biggest pain is cleaning them. Skin won't separate from the breast meat worth a darn. If I end up with some I usually pick all the feathers off the breast then cut it out with the skin on.

Lol I'll wrap em in bacon and grill em then. Bacon makes anything better.

done scouting

best hole was promising with 16 gaddies, 2 cans, 2 redheads, 4 mallards, 11 rings
should be good tomorrow

zero wind and possible fog tomorrow will ask for a total different set up:

6 can decoys, and i’m all in with motion decoys:
2 pulsators, one leg kicker and 3 battle higdon swimmers

decoy placement will be crucial: deep hole with 12 ounce weights barely reaching the 6 ft bottom

ill do a lil quiet calling if foggy
no fog, no calling

Widgeon is really good, in my opinion. Ringnecks are not good, so I usually make them into duck jerky. Just google a recipe. As said, it’s not easy to separate the skin from the breast. I usually cut them down the breast bone with the skin on. When I get to the bottom of the breast, I cut that, then pull the breast to the side and slice the breast away from the skin that way. Usually gets all of it.

bacon does not fix ringneck

but the cedar plank recipe is the way to go with ringneck

They fun to shoot, sometimes faster than teal, wind is not a factor for them, they just come in as they please.

Step-by-step instructions on the best ringer dinner recipe. up

Step 1: Breast ringer, get skin off, this is the hardest part.

Step 2: Put plastic bag on breast, and smash it with rubber mallet, then cut up real good with a knife, this will help to digest ringer.

Step 3: Put mixture in a bowl..

Step 4: Add 1 cup of dried dog food (high quality)..

Just saw a Delta Waterfowl video, they are putting tracking devices in ringers so they track where they go
