Cabelas Wader Warranty??

So what is the deal with the Cabelas "lifetime" guarantee/warranty policy?

I have heard some people say they were denied when the tried to return waders after 1 years. They are saying management is saying the "lifetime" of the waders is only one year.

Then I have heard stories of guys taking back 10 year old waders and getting them replaced with no questions asked?

So what is the deal?

Read a tag on a pair I got recently. Basically saying look if it's craftsmanship defect etc but don't bring it in ripped and punctured.

This. Warranty covers manufacture defects not rips and puncture.

Take them in, with receipt, tell them you need a new pair they leak "what can you do for me" with positive attitude, and you may be surprised with the out come. I always have been.

They used to have an unconditional lifetime warranty on their waders, but it changed a couple years back. That is what leads to the confusion. Some people still think the old warranty is in place.

Its not but like guy said, one day it is for the right man and the next day same store not for another dude. I think it comes down to who the employee your talking to at the moment and what their day has been like. They replaced 4 pairs of mine last year all on same trip....I let my sweet wife do the talking

I think the receipt is the key.... that way they can assess how old they really are.. Ive had a pair for 5 years and no leaks....Ive seen others last a weekend and they leaked....

Keep the receipt or have your online order info available-- They will only exchange if you have that and ONLY if they have that same model and size in stock at the store this even includes the camo.

If you don't have the info/receipt or they don't have an exact match then expect to receive a PRO-RATED credit towards another purchase. They will look up the lowest price that your waders were sold for (to include sales) and that is the amount of credit you will receive.
