Mallard Free Year? - 01/23/18 05:14 PM
This is my first year ...ever I guess that I have not shot a Mallard. I have been limiting out on Teal, Rings, Gads, basically in the first 30 mins or so in every hunt for the past month or so. But I have not shot one Mallard this year. Just a weird season I guess. I moved my normal hunting area about 100 miles east so maybe I am out of migration lane. Anybody else see different ducks this year?

We shot 500 or so last year. Less than 200 this year. Tons of gaddies.

I normally shoot a fair amount of pintails and mallard but this year I shot 0 pintails and 1 mallard. Still killing lots of ducks just not the species we normally shoot.

King same for me. More ducks this year, but mostly smaller species. Teal, Rings, and a few Gads mixed in.
Did shoot the biggest Gad I ever saw. The shadow coming in looked like a Full size Mallard.
