Friday morning

Friday morning - 12/08/17 06:07 PM

Tried a new spot this morning and had a blast. Had 3 other competitors out there. If I could shoot my gun straight I would have a limit but unfortunately my Gun shoots way high so I am going to try my 20 gauge next.
Had around 5 separate flocks and 3 singles come really close just couldn't shoot worth beans. Got 1 hooded hen and had another winged that I couldn't finish off. No breeze so used a quiver magnet and 2 mojos with great success with a very small spread.
Funny story at the end. Had a duck come close and spot me as I was packing up. It flew off and I did a half hearted mouth quack..... this duck did a full 180 and flew back and put its feet down in the decoys. Of course at this point I start getting my gun ready and then proceed to miss.
One of those days today where you almost want to throw your gun due to poor shooting.
Public fun to be had.... you just have to work for it.

Last hunt I went on was monday. I was hunting with my dad and we only had 6 pairs come into the decoys. I shot my limit of 6 dropping one of the pair every time and my dad could not hit anything. Everyone has a day like that.

You drive a tracker with pods and a tiller steer outboard?

Is your barrel bent? Haha..

You may not be shouldering your gun correctly.

I just got a Beretta A400 to replace my Lemmon SBE2 . It cycles everything that my sbe2 would not. But I was taking 2-3 shots to kill what would normally be a 1 shot kill. Yesterday I did some investigating and I needed to shim stock over to get good alignment . I was shooting to the right of ducks (I shoot left handed and guns come ready for righty's)

So check your alignment where you naturally want to mount your gun.
