Do people not read the regs or what? - 12/07/17 12:18 AM

Guys shooting up the woodie roost on the lake 25 minutes after sunset today. Sure hauled [censored] when I yelled that the gw was on the line.

Why did you yell that? I guess you figured GW was not coming?

Probably deer hunters, you be surprised how many think shooting hours are the same for migratory.

I wanted them to stop blowing out the roost, I first just yelled legal time was over but they didn't listen and kept blasting. And it was a long ride back to the ramp, hopefully the gw beat them there.

Also in 9 years of hunting that lake 2-3 times a week I've never once seen the game warden or even his truck in the area. Doubtful he was coming anyways.

I hunt a lake in east Texas and one particular roost gets shot out EVERY year. Bad thing is, the people come by boat, but the spot being hunted isn't 200 yards from a major highway...Never seen green jeans there either

To make matters worse one of the holes I hunt on that lake you have to boat to, then get out to walk in. Late last season I went there on a morning hunt and walked in to find shells, and a red bull can floating in the pond. After the sun came up there was a dead egret on the far end of pond. Bad thing about it was for years people hunted around us but never could figure out exactly where we were, now it's turned into a trashed up shot out hole. And don't get me wrong it's public and if someone beats you to it, fair game, but at least be respectful and pick up

That smart phone in your hand your reading this right now with. It works as a cellular communication device as well. Capable of making phone calls.

But hey venting on the www is mucho more productive.

I'm sure he never thought of that, great post, groundbreaking idea.

I called the gw during the 1st split for the same thing. Shooting time 5:25, still blasting ducks at 5:45. Gw call, no answer, left a message. Called the park ranger that I had a card for, no answer, left a message. Called the park office, no answer, left message. No return calls of follow up, and sure didn't do anything about it. We'll keep calling though, for fear of free advice from ducknbass

That's stinks.

You should have not called and just vented about it on the internet.

Your calling the wrong numbers. This one is manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 1-800-792-GAME.

Pretty sure I said I called the gw. But thanks for the input. I've called multiple times over the years when I see someone doing something seriously wrong. Never seen him show.

I'll save that thank you sniper john. I didn't know their direct numbers were the "wrong ones" up

How about now?

Eric I like ya. Enjoy your post pics etc. But in my never humble often wrong opinion you handled it wrong. Take no offence but if I was you I'd contact Austin or make dang sure i talked to green pants and told him the situation. But you likely pushed them to a knew place to poach where they may not get caught.

The only reason I told them what I did was because they wouldn't stop shooting. I was trying to get them out of there quickly. I had already yelled that shooting had ended ect. but they didn't listen. I did have the gw on the phone as they were still shooting, and I'm hoping he beat them to the ramp as it was at least a 30 minute ride across the lake. Probably shouldn't have told them what I did, but I was watching flocks of woodies get smoked in the dark. That crap ruins the entire lake for everyone.
