Dove hunting in the rain - 08/27/17 03:28 PM
Looks like my opening day will be raining. My son and I will still be out there trying to down a few birds. Anybody else gonna hunt in the rain?

Some of my best days the past few years have been in light rain. It is not as enjoyable but still worth it if the birds are flying. I will be out there rain or shine.

light rain yes and did great but the area held a ton of birds.
heavier rain, nope, in the motel watchin college football getting ready to go eat.
Problem can be getting vehicles near hunting fields.

If we can get to our buddies place we'll be out there.

We will go whatever the weather. I rarely cancel outdoor plans based on the weather forecast.
We've hunted in mud and rain before.
That's what rubber boots, rain suits and synthetic stocks are for.

Not the first time I've had to hunt in the rain and won't be the last. Looking forward to getting away from the shop for a few days, so a little rain will not spoil those plans.

Will be definitely be muddy around Sealy. Not sure if the white wings will hang around with this 500 year flood.

Pochos work well. Visibity suffers, oil your gun at night

I've had some really good hunts for white wings in light rain. It's hard to keep me away during dove season
