Above average public land opening weekend

Saw lots of birds over the weekend and the scouting paid off. North Texas Public Land.

Shot 10 the first day and 14 the second. Mostly Mallards and teal. Not a barn burner by any means but a couple good hunts.

Absolutely loving the new boat. Its been able to get anywhere I have needed it to go.

I love being a poor public duck hunter.

Oh yea.. Hunted a cove they roost in Sunday and it was unbelievable how well you can see.

Not to concerned conserving a roost creek in November. The barneys will be on it here pretty soon anyway.

Was it a roost or a loafing area? Lots of daylight to be taking pictures of a roost shoot.

Its a roost, I jumped them all out running the boat in at 4 that morning and they slowly filtered back throughout the morning to loaf.

Sweet boat I have the same light bar but only one lol.. bet you turn the dark to day
