Has anybody ever hunted this area? Looking to possibly head down there this weekend? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I bet the weekdays would be nice... its walk in only and can get pretty crowded on weekends.
Lots of room to hunt though if you bring your walking shoes

Read the Regs. Certain parts are open on certain days. I hunted near that area a lot when I was younger but the places that are now open have been off limits for as long as I can remember. Its muddy as can be out there, don't trust anything thing, watch for the gators, watch for the oyster reefs.
