I'm in the SA area and in the same boat... Well not one at all is the problem. First season hunting in America so would be nice to get out with someone who knows the game...

I'm between Boerne and San Antonio. I've hunted ducks a few times, but don't have squat for gear 'cept shotgun and clothes. I'll be tied up deer season, but keep me in mind after that if you wanna do a "THF southern outcasts" duck hunt.

I would wait to come down to the coast to be perfectly honest with you. Just aren't that many birds yet and the birds that you do see are a mile high still goin south. If you don't have anything already set in stone and have good numbers then I would wait a few weeks, that's for salt water at least. A few puddlers in the marsh and still a bunch of teal but you have to find the fresh water and 95% of the time that's gonna be private. We've told customers to wait a few weeks to come down. Not much fun sittin in a duck blind in 80 degree weather swattin mesquitos and wonderin if your gonna get to shoot or not. There's lot Of birds in the air but they aren't thinkin about hangin around
