Rain

Posted By: Duck_Hunter

Rain - 10/20/15 09:44 PM

Supposed to get a lot of it in the North Texas area (and decent amount in the majority of the state) this weekend.

My lease needs it. Anybody else looking forward to it, just in time for the big duck opener? That, and some colder weather.

We need it pretty bad. Looks like an earthquake out here. Better watch your step or you will break an ankle.

Bring it!

If our place will rise a couple more feet we will be golden for the season.

Think it will evaporate the minute it hits the ground at my deer lease

Dry dry dry

We need it for one of our spots. Hopefully it pours.

Supposed to get 1-3 inches in my area, I'll take all I can get!

Need it bad. We have about 1/3 of the water the slew is supposed to have.

Mine is even worse. Went out last week end and it was down to about 15% of what it was about a month ago.

I'll take anything the good Lord will give me.

Was planting a food plot in the dark last night trying to beat the rain.

Sure hope it comes down.

I hope it comes down slow and has time to soak in for awhile.

Re: Rain - 10/22/15 02:19 AM

That would be best but it doesn't appear that's going to be the case where my lease is. Looks like it's going to be a metric ton all in two days or so. I'll still take it.

We got a little today, a good flow of rain through the weekend will help.

Lots of rain fast is what fills up ponds/lakes. Runoff is the key.

Mine's going to runoff straight into the cracks in the fields if it don't get a good soaking first.

Re: Rain - 10/22/15 02:01 PM

We are supposed to be in the area expected to get 4-8" and could use every bit to flood the jap millet in our duck marsh. My hunting buddies said they have never been so excited for a rainstorm in their lives... I am feeling the same.

I don't remember being this excited, either. I've never tracked storms and looked at forecasts like this before. I'm almost giddy.

Heavier the better for me. Massive water shed. Above full pool 3x in spring. Need it to come up 3-4 feet to get were it needs to be. Would be shocked if we get 60% plus there with this system- which would be perfect

Haven't gotten nearly what was predicted.

Re: Rain - 10/24/15 02:18 PM

I will try to get some pics posted when I get back to a good connection. But we are out on our property right now near Dawson about 20 mi Se of Corsicana and we have measured 21" so far in our gauges. And they are calling for another 3-6". All of our tanks are over flowing and the we have water going over the top of the levee. Battle Creek has come up 15 plus feet at our property.
